1or8 Laravel Developer

One or Eight is building South Asia's next generation sports media and broadcasting platform. We are looking for a Laravel Developer to join our engineering team and help build fast, reliable systems that support live sports content, broadcasting tools, and the products our audience relies on every day.

You will work closely with our product, design, and content teams to turn ideas into stable, scalable features. This role is suited to someone who enjoys solving real technical problems and cares about writing code that lasts.

Responsibilities

You will play a hands on role across the full backend of our platforms.

Your day to day work will include:

• Designing, building, and maintaining backend features using Laravel

• Writing clean, well tested, and well documented code

• Working with databases, APIs, and third party integrations that support our broadcasting and content systems

• Optimizing application performance, especially around high traffic moments such as live sports events

• Collaborating with frontend developers to connect backend logic with the interfaces our users interact with

• Identifying and fixing bugs, and contributing to overall code quality and system reliability

We expect you to take ownership of the systems you build, not just write code and move on.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with solid, practical experience rather than a specific checklist of years.

You should have:

• Strong experience with PHP and the Laravel framework

• A good understanding of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL

• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs

• Familiarity with version control, particularly Git

• The ability to write clean, maintainable code and explain your technical decisions clearly

• Comfort working in a small, fast moving team where priorities can shift

It would be a strong plus if you also have:

• Experience with front end frameworks or tools such as Vue or Alpine.js

• Exposure to media, streaming, or high traffic platforms

• Familiarity with server management, deployment pipelines, or cloud infrastructure
